Freedom For You

I want this blog to be a modern Magna Carta, from the 1215 event which gave some rights to individuals.

List of taxes

Below is a list of taxes you pay. Some of the freedoms men fight for. The list is circulating on the internet and was sent to me. You can read this without pressing #1 to get the English version.

I talked to a mortgage broker who made a lot of money during the housing boom. He said he paid a lot of taxes that year, but did not mind giving some to the government because he made so much. I reminded him he did not "give" the money to the government, but the government confiscated his money. I asked him how much he would give if it was voluntary. He just smiled and gave no answer.

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago,and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. What the hell happened?

What happened is what Alexis de Tocqueville said about democracy, i.e. "Democracy is one group plundering another group." And Alexis de Tocqueville also said, "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury."
