Freedom For You

I want this blog to be a modern Magna Carta, from the 1215 event which gave some rights to individuals.

Invisible Power

What would you do if you could be invisible while doing the deeds and no one would ever know you did the deeds?   Would you do good or evil?

It has been said that our character is what we do when no one knows.   Our reputation is what we do when people will know what we did.

We would naturally do more harm than good if we could get away with it.   This is why we have laws prohibiting harm to others.

If you were invisible and could do a lot of things that people would not know about, I suspect most people would do more evil than good.   After all, when people do evil they do not expect to get caught.   On the other hand, when people do good, they expect their good deeds to be known and rewarded.

One way people participate in good and evil while invisible is when they go to the polls and vote.   Most often we vote to improve our lives by voting to elect someone who will use force and violence to plunder others for our benefit.   We vote for those who promise war instead of peace.   We are showing our evil side when we promote, praise, and glorify war and the war bureaucrats, instead of praising and glorifying those who advocate for peace, and who avoid war.  Very few people will vote for individual freedom and responsibility.  Most people vote to have their ideologies become laws.  All the time the voter is saying they are willing to use force and violence by their vote to do good.   "Most of the harm in the world is done by good people, and not by accident, lapse, or omission. It is the result of their deliberate actions, long persevered in, which they hold to be motivated by high ideals toward virtuous ends."  Isabelle Patterson
